Almost every major digital asset recorded significant losses, making positive portfolio returns extremely difficult for investors and traders alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Rather than focusing on maximizing profits during a declining market, my objective remained the same as always: protect capital, control risk, and outperform the market whenever possible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In this article, I share my portfolio performance and explain why limiting losses can sometimes be the greatest success during a bear market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n May 31 \u2013 June 30, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Portfolio Return:<\/strong> -12.78%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n April 1 \u2013 June 30, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Portfolio Return:<\/strong> -11.36%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n June 30, 2025 \u2013 June 30, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Portfolio Return:<\/strong> -39.91%<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The overall crypto market experienced heavy selling pressure during June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Major cryptocurrencies recorded the following monthly declines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n With virtually every cryptocurrency in my portfolio declining significantly, generating positive returns was extremely challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Many investors measure success only by positive returns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I disagree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When markets enter a prolonged downtrend, capital preservation becomes far more important than chasing profits<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Although my portfolio declined 12.78%<\/strong> during June, the loss was considerably smaller than many of the individual cryptocurrencies I hold. This suggests that my trading system and risk management approach helped reduce portfolio volatility during a very difficult market environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since the cryptocurrency market has remained in a broader downtrend since October 2025<\/strong>, protecting capital has become my primary objective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the most important aspects of my investment strategy is avoiding unnecessary risk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I do not use financial leverage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Leverage can increase profits, but it also dramatically increases potential losses.
