I don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reason is <strong>portfolio allocation and risk management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I decide how much capital I want exposed to each crypto asset before I know what the market will do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this article, I&#8217;ll compare Bitcoin and Ethereum using their previous bottom-to-peak cycles and explain why <strong>BTC receives 40% of my new capital while ETH receives 20%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bitcoin vs Ethereum: $40 BTC vs $20 ETH<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s start with the numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Bitcoin, I&#8217;m using an <strong>8x scenario<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$40 \u00d7 8 = $320<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That would represent a <strong>700% profit<\/strong> on the original $40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Ethereum, I&#8217;m using a <strong>5.6x scenario<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$20 \u00d7 5.6 = $112<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That would represent a <strong>460% profit<\/strong> on the original $20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So under these scenarios:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th>Investment<\/th><th>Scenario<\/th><th>Potential Value<\/th><th>Profit<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>$40 Bitcoin<\/td><td>8x<\/td><td><strong>$320<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>+700%<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>$20 Ethereum<\/td><td>5.6x<\/td><td><strong>$112<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>+460%<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin produces the larger result, but remember: I&#8217;m also starting with twice as much capital in Bitcoin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of this comparison isn&#8217;t to declare Bitcoin the winner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s to explain <strong>why I allocate different amounts of capital to BTC and ETH<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where Does My 8x Bitcoin Scenario Come From?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m not simply choosing an 8x multiplier because it produces an attractive result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m using Bitcoin&#8217;s previous bottom-to-peak cycle as a reference scenario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bitcoin price reached approximately <strong>$15,742 at the 2022 cycle bottom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its 2025 peak was approximately <strong>$126,080<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That gives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$126,080 \u00f7 $15,742 \u2248 8x<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So for this comparison, I use <strong>8x for Bitcoin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This does <strong>not<\/strong> mean I expect Bitcoin to repeat an 8x return in the next cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Historical performance is simply the reference point for my scenario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where Does My 5.6x Ethereum Scenario Come From?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I apply the same method to Ethereum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ethereum&#8217;s 2022 bottom was approximately <strong>$880<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its 2025 peak was approximately <strong>$4,946<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That gives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$4,946 \u00f7 $880 \u2248 5.6x<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, I use <strong>5.6x as my Ethereum comparison scenario<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again, this is not a prediction that Ethereum will deliver another 5.6x return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a scenario based on the previous cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scenarios, Not Predictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This distinction is important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m <strong>not predicting<\/strong> that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin will return 8x.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ethereum will return 5.6x.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or that Bitcoin will necessarily outperform Ethereum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crypto markets are highly volatile, and previous market cycles cannot tell us exactly what will happen in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I use historical numbers to create scenarios that help me think about <strong>capital allocation, potential returns and risk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My approach is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Preparation over prediction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Do I Allocate 40% to Bitcoin and 20% to Ethereum?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin represents the largest part of my new crypto capital allocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My current strategy allocates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>40% \u2192 Bitcoin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>20% \u2192 Ethereum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For me, Bitcoin is the <strong>core of my crypto allocation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ethereum remains an important part of the portfolio, but I give it a smaller exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This isn&#8217;t about trying to perfectly predict which asset will perform better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s about deciding <strong>how much risk and exposure I want before the outcome is known<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Happens With $100, $1,000 or $10,000?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The amount of capital can change dramatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My percentages don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With <strong>$100 of new capital<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$40 \u2192 Bitcoin<\/strong><br><strong>$20 \u2192 Ethereum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With <strong>$1,000 of new capital<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$400 \u2192 Bitcoin<\/strong><br><strong>$200 \u2192 Ethereum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With <strong>$10,000 of new capital<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$4,000 \u2192 Bitcoin<\/strong><br><strong>$2,000 \u2192 Ethereum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The numbers change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The discipline doesn&#8217;t.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is an important part of my investment strategy because it prevents the size of my allocation from being determined by emotion, FOMO or short-term market movements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Not Put Everything Into Bitcoin?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s a reasonable question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If my Bitcoin scenario is 8x and my Ethereum scenario is 5.6x, why own Ethereum at all?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because I don&#8217;t know what the next cycle will look like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin and Ethereum provide different types of crypto exposure and can produce different outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead of trying to identify one guaranteed winner, I prefer to diversify my allocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin receives more capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ethereum receives less capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But both have a role in my strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s <strong>risk management<\/strong>, not a prediction about which cryptocurrency will win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">My Broader Crypto Portfolio Allocation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitcoin and Ethereum are only part of my new-capital strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My current allocation is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>40% Bitcoin (BTC)<\/strong><br><strong>20% Ethereum (ETH)<\/strong><br><strong>10% XRP<\/strong><br><strong>10% Bitcoin Cash (BCH)<\/strong><br><strong>5% Solana (SOL)<\/strong><br><strong>5% Bittensor (TAO)<\/strong><br><strong>5% ASTER<\/strong><br><strong>5% LINEA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That totals <strong>100% of new capital<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t put all of that capital into the market immediately. My strategy also uses predefined price levels and risk rules rather than going all-in at one price.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bitcoin vs Ethereum: Which One Will Perform Better?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that&#8217;s the point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don&#8217;t need to know with certainty whether Bitcoin or Ethereum will deliver the better return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I need a strategy that I can follow <strong>before the outcome becomes obvious<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bitcoin gets the larger allocation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ethereum provides different exposure.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The portfolio spreads risk across multiple assets.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And my allocation is determined before I know which investment will perform best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation Over Prediction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My investment strategy isn&#8217;t built around predicting every Bitcoin or Ethereum price movement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s built around preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I define:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">how much capital I&#8217;m willing to allocate,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">which assets receive that capital,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">where I may buy,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">where I may take profits,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and how much risk I&#8217;m willing to accept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then I document what actually happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I don&#8217;t predict the market \u2014 I document how I invest, manage risk, take profits and follow my strategy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Would You Do With $60?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here&#8217;s the question I asked in the video:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you had <strong>$60 to allocate between Bitcoin and Ethereum<\/strong>, how would you divide it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Would you choose:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$40 BTC + $20 ETH?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>$30 BTC + $30 ETH?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or something completely different?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Share your allocation in the comments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Risk Disclaimer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This article documents my personal investment strategy and is provided for educational and informational purposes only.
