LINEA recently reached approximately 29,000 mainnet transactions in a single day, while its daily network fees briefly increased to almost 5 ETH.
When I saw these numbers, I wanted to understand what was really happening.
Is the Linea network genuinely becoming more active? Or was this only a temporary spike caused by the broader cryptocurrency market rally?
This article begins a new part of my LINEA analysis: regular monitoring of Linea network activity.
The Two LINEA Metrics I Will Monitor
In my previous LINEA analyses, I discussed the token supply, burn mechanism and several possible long-term scenarios.
I do not want to repeat the same explanations every time. Instead, I will now regularly monitor two important metrics:
- LINEA mainnet transactions
- LINEA mainnet transaction fees
These numbers may help me understand whether the network is attracting more activity over time and whether that activity is generating higher fees.
LINEA Mainnet Transactions in August 2026
Based on the data available for August 2026, LINEA’s daily transaction activity ranged from approximately:
- 10,000 transactions at the lowest point
- 29,000 transactions at the highest point
- 13,000 transactions per day on average
The daily average is more important to me than the highest individual result.
A single day with 29,000 transactions may look impressive, but one strong day does not prove that the network is growing.
The important question is whether LINEA can maintain a higher average over a longer period.
For this reason, I will use approximately 13,000 daily transactions as my first reference point. In my next update, I will compare the new daily average directly with this number.
LINEA Network Fees Reached Almost 5 ETH
During most of the period, LINEA’s daily network fees remained around 0.7 ETH.
However, there was one significant spike when the fees briefly increased to almost 5 ETH.
This was a substantial increase compared with the normal daily level, but I do not want to treat one unusual event as evidence of a new trend.
The spike occurred around the same time as a strong rally across the broader cryptocurrency market.
During this period:
- Bitcoin increased by more than 23%
- LINEA increased by more than 25%
- Both moves happened within approximately two days
The wider market rally may have contributed to the increase in LINEA activity and fees. However, I cannot confirm that it was the direct cause.
Correlation does not automatically prove causation.
Real Network Growth or a Temporary Spike?
The key question is whether this increase was temporary or whether it marked the beginning of a broader change in Linea network activity.
At this stage, there is not enough data to answer that question.
For August 2026, my two main reference points are:
- Approximately 13,000 transactions per day
- Daily network fees generally around 0.7 ETH
The spike to almost 5 ETH is interesting, but I will treat it as an unusual event unless similar increases begin appearing more frequently.
If transaction activity remains elevated and higher fees become more consistent, that could suggest a broader change in network usage.
If both numbers return to their previous levels, the spike was probably temporary.
What I Will Compare in Future LINEA Updates
In future updates, I will monitor and compare:
- The total monthly number of transactions
- The average number of daily transactions
- The highest and lowest daily activity
- The amount of transaction fees generated
- The relationship between transaction activity and network fees
I also want to see whether higher transaction activity consistently leads to higher fees or whether isolated fee spikes are caused by other factors.
Over time, these observations may also help me evaluate how network usage connects to LINEA’s token burn mechanism.
August 2026 Is Only the Starting Point
One month cannot tell me where the Linea network is heading.
A single transaction spike cannot confirm sustainable adoption, just as one weaker month cannot prove that the network is failing.
August 2026 is only my starting point.
After several monthly updates, I should have enough information to identify a much clearer trend and evaluate whether Linea’s activity is genuinely increasing.
My approach is simple: monitor the data, compare it with previous reference points and avoid drawing large conclusions from one unusual day.
